Some deaths make us cheer, and some make us cry. With Lost, there’s so many to choose from, so here’s my list of both good and sad.

5 Deaths That Made Me Sad

1. Charlotte

charlotte
She’s here because I didn’t want to write a top 4. While I wasn’t a fan of her, Daniel being sad makes me sad. And it should make you sad.

2. Daniel

If there were ever a well written/acted awkward nerd-type, it was Daniel Faraday. He was a major link in the plot, and I hate to see it go on without him. You will be missed by us nerds!

3. Mr. Eko

Word has it the actor didn’t like living in a tropical paradise while being one of the most popular characters on an hugely-successful show and asked to be written off. There’s got to be more insight to this, because I sure as hell don’t understand it!

4. Locke

OMG Locke is dead! OMG Locke is alive! OMG Locke is dead again! Having pulled a sneaky almost Illyria (Angel)-move on us, one of the most interesting characters might be gone for good with someone else using his face. Who else is totally bummed?

5. Charlie

How could you not be upset by this heroic death? After teasing us with the foreboding warnings of Desmond, we didn’t want it to be true. Even though we got to see him again when he visited Hurley, it just wasn’t the same.

5 Deaths That Made Me Cheer

1. Nikki and Paulo

Why were they there? And why did they need a whole episode just to explain their death? Couldn’t we just have blown them up Arzt-style? But hey, at least they’re gone now!

2. Boone

Oh Boone, if only you weren’t so annoying! Being Locke’s loyal puppy, I thought I’d respect you more. But the fact that you liked Shannon was proof you weren’t the smartest guy ever. I was glad to see you go.

3. Shannon

Could you be more annoying? No, I don’t think you could. I was hoping the asthma would get you, but your death turned out to be the only good thing Ana-Lucia ever did. And your relationship with Sayid? I don’t know if creepy or gross is more appropriate. Good riddance!

4. Michael

Wow dude, what an ass. You were the most selfish character on the whole show, more so than Shannon. I was glad to see you finally explode.

5. Libby and Ana-Lucia

There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing the worst character on a show get destroyed. Ana-Lucia was one of the main reasons I stopped watching in Season 2 for a while, and I don’t know anyone who wasn’t pleased with her death. And Libby was just the funny icing on the cake.

And now we can only sit and wonder who will be left at the end of the final season.
