During this snowy time, I was bored and took a quiz about what character I would be on Sailor Moon. I got Sailor Mercury. It got me thinking about the Sailor Scouts in general. They really were a mixed bag of girls. I admittedly have my favorites of the bunch and they really haven’t changed in all these years. So here are my choices for my best Sailor Scouts!
1. Sailor Mercury (Mizuno Ami)
She was the brains of the operation. She was sweet and was kind to everyone. I could relate to her shyness and insecurities growing up. She was beyond adorable as well. I wanted to dye my hair blue. Ami had many sides to her and each one was great. Her nerdiness was a refreshing change from Usagi’s harebrained ways.
2. Sailor Mars (Hino Rei)
I like tough chicks. Rei certainly was that. After I got over my insecurity, I became more like Rei. Rei was hard on the outside but was pretty soft on the inside. She was great warrior among the Sailor Scouts. Her flame attacks were amazing.
3. Sailor Pluto (Meiou Setsuna)
I don’t think the outer scouts are thought of very much. I really liked Sailor Pluto. She always had this silent dignity about her. She was mature and strong. I remember thinking she was a great lady. She also has powers controlling time and space. That is bad ass.
4. Sailor Saturn (Tomoe Hotaru)
She the last Sailor Scout to arrive but one of the coolest. She had many different powers. Some of them were her Sailor powers, while some of them were influenced by Mistress 9. Hotaru went through a lot in her young life. She became a strong Scout and an interesting character.
5. Sailor Venus (Aino Minako)
Sailor Venus was a very versatile character. She started her career as Sailor V, defending the earth at age 13. She is smart, elegant, and very friendly. She has a boatload of charisma. She declared she was the “Soldier of Love” and she lived up to it with her hopeless romanticism.
