As both a challenge to himself and a treat to geeks everywhere, illustrator and podcaster Len Peralta is making 2010 the year to celebrate 52 geeks from all parts of fandom with the Geek a Week project. As the name implies, he’s profiling a new geek every week, designing the front and back of a trading card for each one. Adding even more geek cred to the project, Paul and Storm are helping Peralta with all the CCG-appropriate blurbs and stats.
In addition to the cards, Peralta conducts an interview with each geek, which he posts along with interesting facts and quotes over the course of the week on the project’s Tumblr. This week’s geek is G4’s Morgan Webb; others have included Kevin Smith, Veronica Belmont, Jonathan Coulton, and Bonnie Burton. By the end of the year, there will be a full deck of geeks. Unfortunately there aren’t currently any plans to mass-produce them, but you can still “collect them all” by following this brilliant project as it builds.
