I’ve been a fan of the work of Ann Wortham and Leah Rosenthal (aka Ashton Press) for a while now. Ever since my first con, where I saw their cartoons, I happily anticipate when the next batch of artwork will come out! With works from fandoms such as X-Files, Stargate, Highlander, Buffy, and many more, there is sure to be something that appeals to everyone. What caught my eye this time around was the many Supernatural cartoons available. The fandom even has its own page on the site; something that was previously reserved for only Stargate: SG-1 and Highlander.
One area that has always appealed to me about Ashton Press cartoons are that they comment not only on the show itself, but on the possibility of crossovers and media at large. What would happen if Dean Winchester, Angel, and Spike all got together? Are the animals from Shrek really all that innocent or are they demons just waiting for the Winchesters to take them down? And what about the actors themselves? Everyone in the Supernatural fandom has heard or seen the power of Misha Collins when he lets loose on Twitter, so of course there would be meta and commentary on it. And there’s even a loop back to the show. Genius!
Swing by their site and see the Winchesters take on Twilight, get tangled up with The Addams Family, and even team up with Paula Deen (yes, really). You never know where the boys will end up or what trouble they might get themselves into. And of course they’re going to be taking dear, old Uncle Bobby and their favorite angel Castiel along for the ride. It’s the Winchester way, after all.
