Rock Band 3: How Pro Guitar Mode Works

The most talked about new feature in Rock Band 3 is the addition of a keyboard peripheral. Not far behind that, though, is the new Pro mode that allows players to jump into their Rock Band tracks with a realistic and stringed guitar accessory, in theory teaching them to actually play the real instrument. This week Harmonix shed some light on exactly how this Pro mode will work, and they shared a bunch of screenshots of what the new interface will look like. Amazingly, it all looks very straightforward, and there will be a good progression from the easier modes up to “expert,” which will provide players the actual tablature for songs, transcribed into the game.

Take a look at the full article on the official Rock Band website. What do you think? Will you be playing with the Pro mode, or are you satisfied with the tried and true standard Rock Band game we’ve always played?
