I’ve mentioned Marc with a C plenty of times in this column, including putting last year’s Motherf***ers Be Bullsh***in’ on my Best of 2011 list. Clearly I’m a big fan. So I’m really particularly excited to find that he’s crowdfunding a new album that was put together by crowdsourcing. What do I mean? Marc put out several questions on social media and used the answers to guide the lyric writing for the songs on this album. I’m pretty sure that I responded to at least a couple of them, although I can’t really say I remember how I answered. Anyway, it’s a cool idea, and now you can help fund the album’s release!
What I’m Getting
Actually, I’m debating which perk to claim for the campaign. I would really love to have the DVD that’s available at the $75 level, but I’m honestly not sure I can really afford that. I’m also interested in the special musical extras available at the $50 level, which is more affordable, but a little out of my usual range. I do have a little time to decide, though, since the campaign doesn’t end until November 2.
What Else Is Available
Just $5 will get you the digital album, and up that to $10 for the CD. Marc with a C’s music is meant to be heard on vinyl, though (or at least that’s his intention; I’m tempted to purchase a record player just to test out his theory), so $25 gets you the colored vinyl album. At the extreme end of the perks are instruments that Marc has used in his recordings ($1000 for his Casio keyboard and $750 for his snare drum). All Marc with a C’s albums on vinyl ($200), voice mails ($250), custom songs ($400), and cover songs ($500 – I wonder if I could get a bunch of people together for this one to get him to cover “21st Century Schizoid Man”) flesh out the center of the perks.
What Else Is Cool

Um, yeah. Marc clearly has an odd sense of humor (which, of course, I totally love).
