Ummm...not quite what I had in mind.

Ummm...not quite what I had in mind.

HOO-BOY, it’s been a long week, fans! With the combination of an extra-long article about Japanese Music, the death of Satoshi Kon, and getting back into the college routine, this past week has been a perfect storm of exhaustion! So, to exhaust myself and hopefully you too, my dear audience, further, I give you this:

Further proof that even walking can be taken to ridiculous new heights, these young men of the Nippon Sport Science University held a marching competition. That’s right: no musical instruments, no fake rifles, just the group dressed in spiffy evening wear, their own two feet, and the mechanical accuracy that would rival that of the most delicate workings of an expensive, wind-up chronograph. I get exhausted just watching their routine and the discipline it must have taken to get it SO. DAMN. ACCURATE.

Admittedly, I am jumping on the bandwagon here, as this has been reblogged on several other sites, but these guys really are that good! I’ve dipped my head under the vast ocean of the YouTube, and have not yet found other groups of their caliber. Then again, I have yet to search Metacafe, Veoh, or Nico Nico Douga, basically the insane Japanese version of YouTube, so here’s to hoping that I’m wrong!

Well, that’s all I have today! See you next week, fans!

About the Author
After finding out that the school's library was a welcome respite from the heat of the tropical island he inhabited, Paolo Jasa found out that books were a whole lot better than being a constant target during P.E. class; so much so that he developed a love for them that would last him a life time. His first forays in Science Fiction were in the novels of the esteemed I. Asimov, R. Bradbury, and D. Adams, while his adventures in Fantasy took him to the realms of Discworld, Hogwarts, and a Chicago that houses the only Wizard-For-Hire found in the local Yellow Pages, Harry Dresden.

Then he found out about Gaiman's Sandman comics, Miyazaki's animé, Pixar's movies, and (almost) every single web-comic on the Internet.

This changed things a little bit. A lot, in fact.

Regardless, Paolo's currently enrolled in the College of William and Mary to get a Bachelor's Degree in ... something. Hopefully in English or in Education in order to become a teacher, and to bend the minds of the next generation towards all things nerdy. While not studying or reading, he enjoys playing the alto saxophone and singing unabashedly around campus when no one’s looking.
