Video game site Giant Bomb announced today that its co-founder and podcast host Ryan Davis passed away last week on July 3. Recently married, he was a popular voice in gaming journalism, and his loss is a profound one. I never met Ryan face to face but corresponded with him briefly through Twitter a few times. I’m a longtime fan of his and a regular listener of the weekly Giant Bombcast. Despite my knowing him only at a distance, Ryan Davis always felt like a close friend, and I’m still stunned by the news of his passing, as is the rest of the gaming world, as evidenced by the current worldwide Twitter trending topic “Ryan Davis.” Our condolences and best thoughts go out to Ryan’s family, friends, and coworkers.
