I’ve been meaning to post reviews of a couple of FuMP releases that made my Favorites of 2014 list for a while now, and a couple of updates have prompted me to get working on it sooner rather than later. I’ll get to the reviews later in the week, but for now there’s some pressing information that I felt needed to get posted ASAP.
First up is a new Facebook group for fans of Dr. Demento run by members of the FuMP. It’s even an actual official group; here, I’ll just quote from the press release:
With Dr. Demento himself backing the group and giving his official “seal-of-approval”, as it were, fans have a direct line to let him know how much the show means to them, share demented memories, or even make requests for upcoming shows! The group is easily found on Facebook by searching for ‘The Dr. Demento Show – OFFICIAL’ or direct link.
How cool is that?
The more pressing information, however, is that Devo Spice and Sudden Death are taking 42% off their merchandise in celebration of Devo’s 42nd b-day (making him almost exactly a month younger than me!). Perhaps you might consider Devo’s Doctor Who-based album, I Am the Doctor, or his more recent, Herp Derp Ya Don’t Sterp, which was one of my favorites for 2014. But hurry, it’s only until the end of February!
And speaking of buying stuff, the newest compilation of FuMP music is also available for purchase, featuring music from November and December.
