Being a fan is all about sharing your love for something with the world at large. What better way to tell everyone that you’re a fan of superheroes than by wearing it right on your chest? Today’s Fandom Tumblr of the Week spotlights lots of awesome fans who do just that with their fine choices of geeky apparel!
I Love Superhero Shirts
Fandom(s): Superheroes
Theme or gimmick: Each post is a photo (usually a selfie) of someone sporting a great superhero-themed T-shirt.
When it started: June 24, 2011
Tumblr intro: “I Love Superhero Shirts is a great blog to share your photos wearing superhero, villain or any comic book characters. Add your Instagram and/ or Twitter names as part of the caption to get new followers! Family, babies and kids submissions are posted on Sundays. You can browse these posts in the Super Family Sundays tab below.”
Why it’s great: As a longtime fan of comics, video games, movies, and everything else geeky, I have a wardrobe that consists largely of T-shirts emblazoned with the logos and art of the things I love. We now live in a world where wearing a Flash shirt in public isn’t a faux pas, and showing up with Princess Leia or Darth Vader on your tee is likely to get you a thumbs up. I Love Superhero Shirts celebrates this era of proud geekwear by giving its supporters a fun forum to show off their threads.
