Batman: Knightfall Part 1 Releases on Home Video

Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall is available now on Digital and arrived on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 8. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, the animated film launches a three-part adaptation of one of the most famous storylines in Batman comic book history.

Anson Mount voices Bruce Wayne and Batman, with Michael Mando as Bane and Pablo Schreiber as Jean-Paul Valley and Azrael. The film is directed by Jeff Wamester and written by Jeremy Adams, with Rick Morales serving as supervising producer.

The story begins when the mysterious Bane unleashes Batman’s rogues gallery from Arkham Asylum, forcing the Dark Knight into a relentless series of confrontations with Gotham’s most dangerous criminals. With Batman pushed toward his mental and physical limits, the film sets the stage for the larger Knightfall story and Bane’s attempt to systematically wear down the hero before confronting him himself.

The home release includes two behind-the-scenes special features. Breaking the Bat: Adapting the Knightfall explores the process of condensing the sprawling comic book storyline for animation, as well as the design and animation of its action sequences and characters. Batman Needs a Robin examines the importance of Robin throughout Batman history, with a particular focus on Tim Drake and his role in both the original Knightfall comics and this new adaptation.

This is only the beginning of the animated Knightfall story. Part 2 is scheduled to arrive later in 2026, with the concluding Part 3 following in early 2027.
