The storylines of Faith and Angel have still not intertwined, but with the way Faith’s going it doesn’t seem like it’ll be long before she’s outside the corporate machine again. And with the growing unease in Magic Town, the fight might be coming to her before that.

Note: This recap may contain spoilers!

Faith does not play by the rules. We have always known that, but she’s coming up with more and more resistance as she tries to do her job for Deepscan. A man turns into a monster, after being accused of sexing up underage girls? Faith goes by her instincts and attacks him, client or not. But Kennedy repeatedly has to remind her that this isn’t the way things work in the real world. The guy who pays is the guy who gets to set the rules. It is also evidence that Faith needs to start reading up on her clients before the job, since if she had then maybe she would have realized that Billy Rage was a Casanova demon. Without this knowledge, she was working on instinct, and ultimately cost Deepscan their protection gig. There are sure to be repercussions because of this. Will this be the thing that finally breaks Faith for good, sending her back to the field as an independent agent?

Meanwhile, Angel’s got his own problems to deal with. Nadira is still trying to get Angel to follow her directions, which prompts him to start looking around the old glassworks place on the north edge of town. Finally, he starts making some headway, and finds the acclaimed Glass Blower, aka Rutger, has set up shop there. He’s been blowing the glass jars for Corky and the pixies, but not for monetary gain. No, he’s doing this for the challenge alone, to create the structure of the glass in a way that it contains the magic. This lack of money motivation may prove difficult in getting The Glass Blower to cease his creations.

Angel is not going to get answers from Nadira just yet either, because she keeps sending him out on missions. He’s hardly back after his glassworks jaunt when she sends him to talk to Inspector Brandt. Is she pulling his strings, setting things up in a way that he’s in the right place at the right time to get revelations as they become relevant? It’s while out on his walk with Brandt that he catches sight of a couple of boys loading crates of bottles, and it’s because he followed them that he finds the pixies have acquired their new muscle — Pearl. Yep, she’s still alive, and she looks ready and willing to take out her aggression on Angel. Hope he doesn’t get too bloody before it’s all over.

In her youth, Kimberly could be found in the library, devouring books that covered everything from WWII History to Dr. McCoy's latest adventures aboard the Enterprise, with some X-Men thrown in for good measure. Saturdays were often reserved for PBS re-runs of Doctor Who and Red Dwarf. More recently, she's been riding along with the Winchester brothers, and she hopes the Impala doesn't run out of gas for a long time.
