The magic is flowing and the town’s situation is about to get so much worse. With Nadira’s inability to control the power and Archaeus bent on destruction, it’s up to Angel and the gang to stand up to the threats. And they’ll have to do it on their own, because they don’t know who else they can trust.

The magic is spreading out in the streets of Magic Town, bringing a statue to life as its vessel. And even Nadira can feel it, all the way over at Giles’s house, but it’s blunted a bit because of distance. She has to make a choice: should she remain in safety where the magic cannot control her, or should she try to return to Magic Town and attempt to get a hold on the magic herself? In the end, even though it frightens her, the only choice is to return. And she won’t have to do it alone. Fred and Eldre Koh will be there with her, in order to stand firm against anything that may come.
Meanwhile, Angel has gone to see Vampire!Brandt at his office and they get into a fight. Angel thinks it’s just him that’s been turned, but more cops are involved and under Archaeus’s control. When it looks like Angel will have to fight them all alone, Faith comes in and stakes Brandt from behind. A formerly good ally is no more. And neither are the rest of the turned cops, as Angel and Faith take them out as well. If they are going to win this ultimate battle against Archaeus, it’s going to be all up to them.
Back to the park, to tie up the issue, we see the magic statue attacking an old lady and her dog. Even the workers that come to her rescue cannot help, but Nadira’s arrival helps ease the situation. The old lady and the workers escape to safety while Nadira reasons with the magic. She understands how frightened it must be, but control is important. It looks like she’s managed to make a difference, to get through to the magic, but suddenly the statue grabs hold of her arm and it goes from bad to worse. Fred, in an attempt to help out, rushes in. That’s when the statue turns its attention to her, grabbing her by the throat and bringing forth Illyria. Things just got serious, and we’re left to hope that the situation can de-escalate before Magic Town gets blown to bits.
