With Angelus on the loose and Angus on the warpath, it doesn’t look good for Faith and the gang. The stage is set for a showdown, but the outcomes are different than anyone expected.

We start with Angus facing off against Faith. He’s headstrong and ready for a fight. And it looks like he’s going to get one, because the higher-ups are all busy coming up with a plan on how to take them down. The original set-up was that Angel would distract Archaeus while Faith swooped in and saved Nadira. But circumstances have changed and now they must find a way to take out Faith quick and swiftly. Meanwhile, Archaeus emphasizes how they are a family, how they can be stronger because of it. All his children together, it’s the only way they’ll succeed.
Faith finally gains the upper hand and beheads Angus, much to Dru’s displeasure. After that, the fight escalates even more, with Slayer versus Ultimate Vampire. Dru throws Faith off-track by revealing Angel’s fate and they begin to go at it full-force. It really seems like the situation is dire for Faith, and without Angel there to help her out, the gang might truly fall. However, looks can be deceiving. Archaeus comes up with a plan on how to harness Nadira’s magic. He wants Angel to use the trust she has in him in order to lure her out. And it looks like that’s what he’s doing, opening her cage and appearing like dear, old Angel with the suggestion that they call on magic to help them out. After Nadira refuses, for fear that Archaeus might get his hands on it, Angelus is revealed and it looks like the ultimate betrayal. But, again, it’s not quite that simple.
Angelus has a plan, which he subtly lets Nadira know, then hauls off and whacks Archaeus before dragging Nadira away. Looks like Angel was playing all along, luring Archaeus into a sense of security while all the minions were off fighting. Once they make their escape, Angel texts Faith that he’s got Nadira, so now it’s her turn to take on Dru. She does so, though leaves her alive yet again. Still, everything’s going according to plan.
They hide Nadira in Giles’s place, where she says that she can block out the magic better. That’s a good plan, too, because she doesn’t really trust magic at the moment. And there’s also the implication that Archaeus will going with a Plan B soon, so they need to regroup and figure out how to fight. Going by the last panel, where the statue is being unloaded at the museum, it might be coming sooner than they expect.
