Another arc is coming to a close for the Charmed comic series. When last we left our magical group, they were outside the huge orb and feeling the power coming off of it. As we pick up, the sisters are still trying to get inside, while their soldiers-in-arms are trying to fight off the never-ending wave of attacks.

As the sisters soon learn, the key to getting inside isn’t to fight, but to accept the power that the orb brings with it. By doing so, they make it through and begin to tap into their true potential. They can do more, become more, by just channeling all their power. Well, they could if they were left alone for more than a minute, but instead of seeing how far their abilities can stretch, they have to fight off even more soldiers. When they finally win the upper hand, and Phoebe sees Leo’s sword just ahead, they think luck might be on their side. They’re wrong.

Meanwhile, Leo and Prue make it into the orb and start looking for the sisters. The Charmed Ones have been caught, tied up, and gagged by Rennek. What he wasn’t counting on, however, was the fact that the orb’s power gives the sisters telepathy. By reading each others’ minds, they come up with a plan of escape and put it into motion. They break out of their bonds and cast a spell on Rennek, but it doesn’t do anything to him. Leo bursts into the scene at that point, trying to aid his family, and he too is met with failure. Prue is their last chance of success, but their last hope is their best. She takes on the powers of all the artifacts and uses them against Rennek to banish him. Crisis averted for now!

Back home, the world seems to be back in semi-order. Phoebe is enjoying her new ability to fly, even though she hasn’t gotten a good handle on it yet, and the others have lots of expanded abilities to look forward to as they learn and grow. And since Prue took over the power of the Empyreal sword, Leo was released from its spell and no longer has his wings. As for Prue, she’s got a new mission of her own. Cole shows up, after having been released from limbo, and explains that he’s now in the service of the Elders. They have a new role for Prue, that of Caretaker of the two realms. To help her, Cole has been assigned as her Messenger, and they both have been bound to the mansion to fulfill their destines. Not a bad ending to the situation. Guess we’ll have to wait until next time to see what other trouble the Charmed Ones can get into.
