The Charmed Ones are in hiding as they try to come to terms with a world that has become chaotic and dangerous. Magical beings are still powerless and mere mortals now hold the power of gods. It doesn’t look positive for the sisters, their family, or friends. How will they manage to get out of this in one piece?
When we begin this issue, Phoebe is on the run with Parker. It isn’t long before they’re joined by Coop and then set off to dodge magical mortals in order to protect themselves from the looming dangers that threaten them. If I were to describe them, I’d liken the power-hungry people to zombie hordes roaming the streets. They don’t seem to be in their right minds, too overcome with their new-found abilities to think straight, and are constantly fighting against anyone they perceive to be in their way. It takes some maneuvering, but Phoebe, Parker, and Coop finally make it to Knox Academy to meet up with the rest of their family and the group of formerly-magical beings that are all holed up there, trying to hide from the government magic squads that would like nothing more than to round them up and put them in jail.
Piper cannot deal with the immediate threat just yet because she’s too focused on Leo, who is unconscious and in need of serious medical help. The accountant turned doctor, with added healing powers, attempts to remove Leo’s wings at their request, but that plan fails. Instead, he puts some healing magic on the winged warrior and tries to nurse him back to semi-health. Personally, I’m glad the wing removal failed because I’m a big fan of Leo with wings. I’m sure he thinks he’d be better off without them, but my happiness levels would go down if he was back to less powerful status.
While the world is falling apart, even before that happened, Prue has been MIA. Piper’s none too pleased that her big sister didn’t deem it worthy enough to make an appearance even for her new niece’s birth, but they all hang onto the hope that she might pop up soon. Well, it’s a good hope to have, and someone from their past does show up to help them out, but it’s not Prue. Their mission of evacuation got curtailed and their ally has arrived. It’s Darryl! I’ve missed him, so I’m excited to see how he will play into this escalating situation. Until next time, we hope the Charmed Ones can remain safe.

Seeing Darryl on that final page made me so incredibly happy!
Conversely, I’m not a fan of the wings. I like Leo with powers, but I think the whole winged thing is a bit much.
I have a fascination with angels. This may be tinting my love for Winged!Leo ;)
