Fandomania continued our tradition of attending MegaCon in Orlando, Florida, this past weekend! The con seemed bigger than ever, and the show floor was designed to allow for wider aisle spaces, which made it even easier to take in all the sights.
Some of this year’s celebrity media guests included Harry Potter‘s Tom Felton; Babylon 5‘s Bruce Boxleitner, Stephen Furst, and Peter Jurasik; Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s Nicholas Brendon and Charisma Carpenter; Warehouse 13‘s Eddie McClintock, Saul Rubinek, and Tia Carrere; Star Wars‘s Peter Mayhew, David Prowse, Daniel Logan, and Richard LeParmentier; Star Trek‘s Brent Spiner, Robert Picardo, and Tim Russ; Stargate‘s Paul McGillion, and Corin Nemec; and The Vampire Diaries‘s David Anders, Joseph Morgan, and Lauren Cohan.
Comic creators were also on hand, including Stan Lee, J. Scott Campbell, Frank Cho, Amanda Connor, Jimmy Palmiotti, Tony Bedard, Dan DiDio, Chuck Dixon, Greg Horn, Barbara Kesel, Karl Moline, Phil Noto, George Perez, Mike Perkins, Brian Pulido, Tim Sale, and many more! In addition to these, rows and rows of indie creators, from comic writers and artists to crafters and artisans, made up the Artist’s Alley.
Speaking of creators, both the 501st and Rebel Legion were there, along with the R-2 Builders, who showed off plenty of droids. And the LEGO builders had a huge display of unique themed constructions, including some featuring comic book characters overtaking downtown Orlando, The Wizard of Oz, Portal 2, and LOST, plus some other fantasy and sci-fi designs. And of course, lots of attendees showed up in costume!
