On Friday, April 23, Funcom announced the launch date for Rise of the Godslayer, the first expansion for the MMO Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. The expansion will be available through retail and digital download starting May 11, 2010.
“We are now ready to publish the expansion and it feels great to sound the horn and let players into this great new world that we have created,” says Morten Larssen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Funcom. “It is also very exciting to be re-engaging with retail together with our great distribution partners with an updated product that contains both the expansion and the original game, making this release relevant to both new players, previous players and our current playerbase.”
Pre-order for the expansion is currently available and offers in-game rewards such as a new pet that will aid the player in battle. Also being made available will be the soundtrack for Rise of the Godslayer, which will include a bonus DVD and an in-game item.
Rise of the Godslayer is set in the eastern empire of Khitai, where players will get to explore a new and unique part of Conan’s world.
