2014 has given us many great new sci-fi and fantasy shows and movies. We’ve also been introduced to new and great characters in existing franchises. Really, it’s been a great year for eye candy. The actors playing our favorite characters have brought their acting skills and good looks to the screen. Here are my picks for this year’s best looking male characters, in no particular order.
Star Lord (Chris Pratt, Guardians of the Galaxy)
Do you remember Chris Pratt on Parks and Recreation? Talk about total change. Well, the adorable goofiness did not change but he added some muscle and spaceship piloting skills into the mix.
The Winter Soldier/ Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan, Captain America: The Winter Soldier)
The metal arm just adds to Sebastian Stan’s glorious looks in The Winter Soldier. I had a crush on him during his Stint on Once Upon a Time. His beautiful eyes and heart stopping smile are the cause of many rewatches.
Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan, Outlander)
It’s not often one of your favorite book crushes comes to life with such perfection. From his bright blue eyes to his dreamy accent, Sam is 100% Jamie Fraser. Additionally, he looks amazing in a kilt. He’s done us Outlander fans proud.
D’Artagnan (Luke Pasqualino, The Musketeers)
I remember Luke as the tragic stableboy on The Borgias. I didn’t think much about him at the time but he definitely shot up on the hotness scale. The leather and swords really bring out his eyes. I can’t wait for season two!
Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal, Game of Thrones)
Ah, it was a sunny day when Pedro Pascal appeared on our screens as the Red Viper. He was handsome, charismatic, and a prodigious lover. Too bad his fixation with revenge turned into a mountain-sized disaster.
The Flash/Barry Allen (Grant Gustin, The Flash)
Iris really makes me angry. Grant Gustin as Barry Allen is totally the guy I would have asked out in high school. He is adorable, sweet, and smart. He would always make it to your dates on time. He also fills out that red suit rather well.
Stay tuned for my female list and feel free to share your own picks in the comments!
