2014 was a great year for seeing some beautiful and kick-ass ladies. Sci-fi and fantasy were very generous to us this year. Well, this year and a little bit of 2013 as well. This list is a bit more mixed than the male one. The actresses on this list have brought their amazing skills to play wonderfully dreamy characters. Here are my picks for 2014’s hotties.
Gamora (Zoe Saldana, Guardians of the Galaxy)
She is a lean, mean, green fighting machine. She is also gorgeous and not to be messed with. She won’t fall for your pelvic sorcery. I’ve always been a Zoe fan and this is just one more role to admire her in.
Claire (Caitriona Balfe, Outlander)
This actress brought the amazing character of Claire Fraser to life. She looked, acted, and talked like Claire. I had a crush on Claire in the books but actually having a visual is great.
Queen Mary (Adelaide Kane, Reign)
So, I started watching Reign on Netflix therefore she counts as being a 2014 hottie. Kane’s Queen Mary is smart, lovely, and incredibly capable of holding her own despite the French Court intrigues.
Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly, The Hobbit films)
She may be made up for the movies, but Tauriel is a lovely elf. It took me a bit to remember that Evangeline was not playing Kate on Lost. Tauriel is an elf radical and I definitely loved her attitude.
Ygritte (Rose Leslie, Game of Thrones)
This was my husband’s lady of choice this year. I can hardly disagree with this choice. Many people fell in love with the fiery wildling and her great catch phrases. Too bad we won’t be seeing more of her.
I look forward to what 2015 will bring in the way of gorgeous characters.
