Wayne,
Exactly! Each ep just gets more and more horrible especially with these ridiculous storylines. You would think its HBO and they could hire the best writers.

Chrissie,

You're not alone.

I think the more high concept the show gets, the harder it is to pull off on TV. It's like Stephen King books, fun to read but bad to watch on screen. Stephen King's "It" the book was one of my favorite reads, "It" the miniseries made me wish pox and boils on all involved. I liked last season's finale much better.

But I'm still enough of a Trueblood geek that I watched it twice last night. I'm kinda pathetic it seems. At least it was much better than the two previous episodes.

Ok now I feel like an idiot getting excited over nothing bc it was.....CRAP!
I was so pissed after waiting 2wks and then finale was a HUGE disappointment. Couldn't they come up with a better cliffhanger? It seemed so predictable.
The only thing that made this episode a bit watchable was Sam/Jason/Andy other than that BORING!

Okay, one thing that came to mind last night watching the final: When Sam got the address to his real parents' house, I immediately pictured a puppy mill.

Having now made it through season 2 in its' entirety, I can say this episode and the season finale SUCKED. They went on and on and on and got nowhere.

Evan Rachel Woods can't act worth shit, but I would have found her Yahtzee games more interesting to watch than these two episodes. Is she coming back in season three? I hope not. Although I did like her "day room". It had really great dioramas, just like the Natural History Museum.

An ostrich egg? Really? Why? Maryann or Tara could have at least given birth to an Eraserhead baby or something, you know, since we're comparing at least one of these episodes to something David Lynch would have crafted...something I disagree with. There's awesome/intelligent weird and then there's just plain stupid weird.

Gran's wedding dress certainly looked fresh (and rather Quincianera, I might add) for being what...packed away in a Louisiana closet for 60 years.

Fairly certain that in order to reattach a severed finger, it needs to be done within an hour or so after said finger was cut off. No?

I didn't think Bill's hair could get any worse than it did three episodes ago when it turned purple. I was wrong. He's sort of channeling Betty Page with those bangs.

I think the only story line created for season three revolves around Sookie's electromagnetic force field. Yawn. Oh wait, I was drinking Don Julio last night, but it's coming back to me...Sookie turned down Bill's marriage proposal, right? "I've dreamed of this since I was a little girl. I don't know why I can't say yes. But I can't say yes." blah blah blah. I can only assume this means Rachel and Ross are now going to get it on. Oh wait, wrong show.

I'm going back to reading on Sunday nights.

When I was watching the second to the last epsisode of the season, more than once I thought, "Who the fuck let David Lynch direct this episode???" (He didn't, but it sure as hell felt that way!) I expected red curtains to appear at the end of every scene and a little midget guy dancing and talking backwards/forwards (Twin Peaks stuff). I half expected Maryanne to turn into the log lady, things were so goofy. I love David Lynch's stuff and I love Alan Ball, but I kinda hated this episode.

When they cast Evan Rachel Woods for the Vamp Queen, I was excited. Anyone who has humped Marilyn Manson should be able to bring a unique perspective to an evil lesbian queen. But she sucked, in every way someone could possibly suck. They should have cast Rose McGowan (who also humped Manson) even if she was in Charmed. Rose was far more believable as a stripper/comedian with a machine gun leg (Grindhouse) than Evan Rachel was as a vampire. It's a good thing that vamps have strong fangs and can heal themselves because Ms. Wood was eating so much scenery it would damage most people. The chick who plays Jessica would be a far better Queen. Given enough makeup, so would I.

I did like the scene between Jason and Andy. But if your life is gonna suck, looking like Jason would make it a bit more bearable. That, and all the sex.

I HATED the scene where Sookie and the undertaker spooned on the nasty floor. She punches out a 1000-year-old vampire, but lets a middle-aged necrophilliac (I'm just guessin') dry hump her???!!!

Bill momentarily got a bit more interesting. Maybe the whole Sookie thing has been planned from the beginning to harness her powers. I'd rather him be using her than all the lovey-dovey crap.

I hate that Eric can fly. Why do they slow down and walk or drive? I would be flying all over the place or super-fast-walking all over the place. Normal walking would be like being stuck in line in DisneyLand waiting for the Pirates' ride. I hate doing the speed limit, the human walk limit would be so much worse.

Eric in the dress looks a bit like Ellen DeGeneress. Except Ellen doesn't wear dresses (I guess that means she's the Butch in her relationship). Not a good look for Eric.

I puked a bit (made myself -- manorexia) over the egg in the bed. Cue the red curtains and the dancing dwarves.

Holy hemorrhoids, Batman! That ep *was* written by AB, wasn't it? WOW.

Well, I have 5 more minutes until the finale airs here, so fingers crossed they brought the badass back.

Hot mess indeed this ep was the worst of all the eps so far IMO. The writing was really bad it felt like an amateur. I'm totally amazed bc it was AB who wrote it. ERW "acting" as the Queen she was totally atrocious!!!
'Bill replies by making a face similar to the one I made watching Evan Rachel Wood hack her way through that scene' - Thats how I felt and it makes me cringe to know I hve to endure her "acting" again tonight.
Okay, what is it with vampires being messy eaters? - Same here but I guess its a "Show" thing.
The only thing that actually made this ep bearable was that the sidekicks (Jason/Andy) brought the funny.
