Go Team Lafayette! I need a cousin that awesome. That bitch needs more screen time for sure!

I kinda get what everyone is saying about Eric being too... domestic? or whatever in the scene that I most certainly have not watched over and over for 45 minutes at a go, but consider this: a guy with a thousand years practice must have some pretty good tricks up his extremely long, uh, sleeves.... lost my train of thought... right. Hopefully we'll get more of his repertoire before the end of the season!

Katharina: Thank you so much! I try my best to put together a halfway coherent recap, and I'm glad other fans appreciate them.

Wayne: So true about Lafayette! I think he needs to be in the show more. I honestly don't think I'd have watched S2 if he had been the body instead of the Faux Voodoo Lady.

(and I watch every ep at least twice, too - three times when I was screen capping it myself) :)

You girls are DIRTY. I knew right off it was a fantasy sequence because Eric was all cuddly. With Eric and Sookie, it wouldn't be romantic, it would be a Hate F@&k.

I agree with katharina on her tough love comment. I actually felt a bit guilty for being so cranky comparing it to Heroes (and I rarely feel guilt of any kind). This is the only thing on TV right now that I actually look forward to. I actually watch the iffy episodes twice (goddamn, I need a life).

And I'm glad Alan Ball isn't following the books. Because then, apparently, we would no longer have Lafayette.

And one last thing (promised): Did anyone else notice how much Godric was looking at Eric's lips when they were speaking in the hotel room? That wasn't just because he's about 3 feet shorter, that was because these two have a HISTORY and if Godric hadn't been so christ-like he would have totally gone for it. I know they didn't shoot more material for Godric but I entertain private fantasies of flashbacks to Eric and Godric's earlier, dirtier times.

Ahhhh see it all makes much more sense now! You didn't seem the flower-sex kinda girl and yes we must be grateful for the little things, for pulling her down and grabbing some hair. Sister, let us lift our cynical little smut hearts in sinful prayer to the gods of kink and good story-telling! Amen.

And congratulations on this truly refreshing and hilarious review, quite the treat!

Katharina: Oh, no, no, no, you completely misunderstood my take on the sex dream. It was so typical in it's typical femaleness, and not at ALL what I personally would like to see involving Eric (as the comments of this recap have played out much like a therapy session in my revelation that I'm NOT a typical female and not soft and pastely). So we DO agree on that.

I will say, it got a tiny, teeny bit Eric-style devious when he said something along the lines of "This is only the beginning."

Turning Eric into Wonder Beard is my big "OMG I hope they don't do that because I can't watch that not even for just 12 episodes" fear for next season. ASkars is a brilliant actor, this has been shown this season (same with Ryan Kwanten, surprisingly, this season). Going to flat, puppy dog at Sookie's heels would blow. On a massive scale.

I know, Maryann! I *want* to still like her, I just feel like this subplot could have been taken care of episodes ago. The character was interesting to me up until last ep (even with my being over her storyline most of the season). I can't wait to see how they wrap it up, that's for sure.

OMG Summer, thank you so very much for this review and for being as fed up with Suckie as I am. Last episodes THREE motivational speeches (Jason, Bill, Godric) brought me to the verge of depression. I thought it so sad that poor Godric after 2000 years had to go to his death with this and the freely flowing fake tears ... thank god he was depressed and removed enough not to mind as much as I did. I don't know if it's bad scripting or really terrible acting or an unfortunate combination of the two but it has come to a point where, to speak with Rev. Newlin, I really ceased to understand what these people see in her.

Which brings me to my second huge disappointment and in this I am in total disagreement with you. I thought the "sex" scene with Eric, long did we see it coming and long did we lust for it, was the lamest crap I've seen in years. I mean come on, this is ERIC we're talking about, bad-ass, cunning, dangerous and HOT Eric, not some 12-year-old Twilight-fan's-dream-come-true. Is this really what we women fantasize about? Is this how we picture "sex with Eric"? I'm not unreasonable, I would have put up with all the sweet talking, the gentle caressing, the long glances and the pastell colours, if, IF he had shown so much as the shadow of a fang. I know if was Sookie's dream, but even Sookie had more interesting sex with Bill last season, why would she want water that down with Eric of all people? I'm glad that everyone seems to have high hopes for Eric's character development. He's probably the most layered and interesting (and sexy of course) at the moment, but if this episodes "love scene" was any indication I'm very afraid that next season's Eric will be this season's Bill: a vanilla coloured shadow of himself. It seems to be the price to pay for Suckie's affections.

Eric should be with Godric; I agree with you that the chemistry was unbelievable, as was the acting, just superb (and no, I didn't mind the crying, the more crying the better!) It was such a treat and I think they could have drawn this storyline a few episodes longer and cut Maryann short instead. Everyone seems to be fed up with her and that's a shame because the character and the acting are compelling, it just has become way to repetitive. Tara? I want her to die, that's all I have to say about that. Bill? Don't even get me started. He _is_ taking emo to another level, self absorbed, melodramatic and completely pussified by Eric.

Having said all this, I still love the show. I'm only tough-loving it because it has so much potential. The books however are another matter. I _tried_ to read them and I have a high tolerance for bad writing, I read all of Twilight for crying out loud but I have to say Stephenie Meyer shines right up there with the Brontes compared to this. It's unbelievably bad and I have to give all kudos to Alan Ball for biting his way through it and rescuing the storyline.

Celeste: Yep, I'm pretty much frigid with everyone! LOL I'm like an 80-year old crusty lady who lives alone on the corner house and never takes care of her lawn, yelling at kids to stay off it, stuck in a 29-year old's body. It's a scientific oddity. :)

Dawnie: Dude, you're right about Andy - he DID go black-eyes at that party! But why isn't it sticking? I was wondering if Dionysus(sp?) wouldn't just show up and reign her in somehow (or if KARL was the god himself). She forcing these people to be out of control, it seems to me, not letting them be out of control of their own free will like she keeps saying she's into. I had heard about a Vampire Queen and assumed she'd be the one to handle Maryann after Godric torched himself. But, like I say in my recaps, I throw out theories all the time and they're usually wrong. I keep hearing good things about the books, but I kind of don't want to read them if I'm going to continue to watch the show since I also keep hearing Show isn't following the books very much.

Thevikingsgirl: Well, ASkars isn't a bad reason to watch anything, if you ask me. ;)

I so feel you on the Sookie/Bill annoyances. I was so fed up with them I almost quit watching around episode 5. But I had read we would get to see Alex in the nude this season, so I persevered. It got better, so I'm glad I hung in there. But I'm a fan of the books and I feel like they are completely butchering the characters I love. Sookie's not funny. Bill's a simpering, whining, angst-filled loser. I'm not a fan of his in the books either, but at least I can respect the character. In the show he is completely useless. I keep watching only because I love Alexander Skarsgard with unreasonable passion, considering he's a stranger I'll never meet. I suppose I'll keep watching as long as he's around, no matter how much everyone else on the show sucks.

p.s. So happy to see the steamy Eric w/Sookie scenes... Can't wait for that story line to progress, hopefully next season. If they follow the books, we'll get to see SOOO much more of "him" (hehe) and them together. Almost everyone I know who has read the books is "TEAM ERIC".
