princess leia shouldnt be on here. she becomes a mum AFTER starwars, so it shouldnt count.
i think molly weasley should be no1. she cares for harry so well, and he isnt even her child, and she would go to ANY lengths for her 9 "children"(thats including harry and hermione), even single handidly fighting bellatrix, the strongest and most insane death eater there, to protect them.
i do think jackie and sarah jane are well placed, wven though i would swap them around.
never watche terminator or maximum ride, but i agree with the rest

I agree with fyreowl that Joyce should be on the list. Maybe not HIGH on the list, seeing as she kicked Buff out in Becoming and all, but still. I was surprised Dr. Martinez was in here: i'm not all that familiar with the books but from what I've read of them (the first and second books, havent gotten to the others yet :p) she does seem like a good mother. Esme, sure, even though that Twilight thing is getting a little cultish if you ask me. Mrs. Weasley: hell yeah. God, look at all those kids, AND she killed Bellatrix in the seventh for Ginny's sake. I'm a daughter to someone, and hey, that's pretty cool. DOn't know what's with all the Dr. Who stuff, but definitely on the Star Wars girls.

I was really hoping to see Joyce Summers on the list. That woman went from being oblivious about her daughters affairs to nearly becoming a Scooby herself. I don't know about you, but every time I watch the episode "The Body" I weep like a baby.

I was kind of bummed about Ripley not being on the list, too, but she wasn't really a "mother" so to speak in the movies. Right on for Sarah Connor being number 1, though! Talk about a strong woman who'd do anything for her kid.

I disagree with Lyn because Padme was always trying to make Anakin turn away from the Dark Side of the Force. The broken heart "excuse or reason" is for the kids, which is the movie's main target market, to understand, but since she was pregnant at the time of the last battle between Anakin and Obi on the third movie, and she went through a lot distress, the way that Anakin acted caused her to have a complicated birth giving, but anyway, she saved all the strength and all the energy that she had in order to give birth to the only hope in the Universe, before dying because of complications while giving birth, not only because of a broken heart. She gave the Universe her ultimate and most valuable gifts and died by trying to do so. She chose Luke and Leia's lives over her own and anyone that is a mother, like me, understands it perfectly.

I'm surprised Ellen Ripley wasn't on the list, granded her daughter died between Alien and Aliens (not her fault), but the way Ripley became the 'mother' to Newt was pretty impressive. Kudos for Sarah Conner though, she's the poster woman for awesome moms.

I sadly disagree with Padme being listed, only for the fact she died because 'of a broken heart' after popping out two good reasons to keep living (i.e. Luke & leia).
