I was late to the bandwagon on The Boondock Saints, finally seeing it my freshman year of college. However, I enjoyed the film quite a bit but never took my fandom beyond that. I understand why people start becoming obsessed with certain films, but I just don't have the same kind of devotion even though I may love the film just as much.

Back on track, I never knew Troy Duffy was a sincere prick. Never have I heard that discussed with the friends that introduced me to the film, nor have I ever read it on the internet (I wasn't looking for what I was ignorant of, after all).

Now that I have, I know why Duffy hasn't become a more well-known director and remained in the shadows.

I don't have that much interest in seeing the sequel. Sometimes films need to stand on their own, without having a cash-grab. Make the film good enough, and it will earn you money. That should give you a chance to make another crazy idea into a film, not rehashing or continuing the other one.

Great write up and back story.
