Going by the cover, I was expecting this to be a Ripper issue or maybe Angel raising a younger version of Giles from the dead. That wasn’t quite what transpired, but I can’t say I’m disappointed because the twist ending made up for everything. Things just got more interesting.

What happens when the Charmed Ones expand from three to four? That’s what we were set to find out in this issue of the Charmed comic. Fans knew it was only a matter of time before Prue’s existence was uncovered and, from the looks of things, that revelation is coming sooner than expected.

Picking up after the end of the Nickelodeon animated series, The Promise is the continuation of Aang, Sokka, and Katara’s adventures. While the TV show focused on their fight against the Fire Nation and Aang’s journey to fulfill his destiny as the new Avatar, this new series shifts tone quite a bit.

Based on Fatale #1, it looks like Image has another winner on its hands, and I’m sure the next few issues will be as good as the first, if not even better after being liberated from laying the groundwork for the series by this first issue.

I have an unnatural fascination with Hitler. And anything that involves femme fatales. It makes perfect sense, then, that I jumped on the opportunity to review Vescell #5, which is subtitled “Hitler’s a Bitch” and described on Image’s website as pitting the series’s protagonist against “evil Gestapo scientists, crooked cops, and Fraulein femme fatales.”

This issue of the Buffy comic seemed to be all over the place. We ended a dramatic arc with the last issue, though it was more with a whimper than a bang, and we’re starting up a possibly new arc this month. However, I have no idea what’s going on.

My favorite comic book writer, Tim Seeley, teamed up with artist Diego Bernard to produce Witchblade #151, and I spoke with him recently about his experience working on the issue.

Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock Classics brings together four chapters of the old Fraggle Rock comics from the 1980s. Each issue is broken up into two parts and feels just like an episode of the TV show: there is a problem, a postcard from Uncle Matt that relates to the problem, and the problem is resolved. While simple, it is fun to watch and read.

This holiday season Grimm Fairy Tales puts a new spin on the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol when the ever-creative Sela Mathers attempts to teach a future princess of Myst a valuable lesson about caring, sharing, and the consequences of failing to do either.

The setting, art, and story of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic: War #1 make for a very fast-paced and exciting read — if you like war-ravaged craziness, with lots of explosions, that is.
