I actually felt the ending was quite brilliant. Throughout the entire movie they open our minds and get deep inside. Then with the ending, they plant a seed of doubt that grows and has now got so many people developing that seed into their own idea and their own theory. They used inception on us, the audience.

I agree with you on pretty much all points. My reaction to the ending was a resounding groan - like you, I found Otto be a cop-out. I also agree that it's hard to connect to the characters. I didn't get emotionally drawn in to any of their storylines, and with a storyline like Cobb's, especially, I feel like that was a detriment. However, the movie was so brilliant in its world-building and general mythos that it's still probably one ofthe best movies I've seen in years.
