gah. well... i agree with with you on a few things - the cinematography was excellent, the acting was the best its been in the series, and overall this was a spectacular film.

the portrayal of slughorn was spot on. this was the funniest harry potter film to date, i was laughing nonstop. the landscape was breathtaking and the inferi scared the crap out of me. yeah, as a movie - this was great entertainment!

but 75% book accurate? not in my opinion.

i, unlike you, did not appreciate the added attack scene on the burrow at all. i thought it was so unnecessary, and now i'm wondering how on earth certain events will play out in the book 7 movies - where will the wedding be held?

but then one must wonder if there will even be a wedding, seeing as bill and fleur are non-entities in the sixth movie!

i'm miffed at added scenes and exaggerated content when some aspects of the book, that are in my opinion - totally plot essential - were left out! the tension between harry and dumbledore was downplayed to non-existent, as well as any significant falling out amongst the trio. the overall tension of the wizarding world - students scared to return to hogwarts, chaos and people dying - was also downplayed.

the amazing opening scene in which dumbledore retrieves harry from the dursleys was totally omitted, as was the ENTIRE battle at hogwarts, fenrir's attack on bill, dumbledore's funeral, and harry's breaking up with ginny.

i know the movies must be condensed for time, and that not all plot elements will make the big screen. but these aren't small cutesy scenes being cut - these are major major plot points!

also, i'm tired of seeing the trio in plainclothes. i miss the wizarding robes that we saw in the first two films.
