But Avatar seems to be a movie about war and hate, and in war and hate there are no winners,no matter what side you choose,no matter where you stand in your beliefs,regaurdless of who drew first blood."where are the peacemakers?" None of the science fictions type trappings are necessary to the central plot. Science fantasy maybe. Perhaps if the aliens really were aliens (as they were in the aforementioned District 9) instead of American Indians in blue suits, we'd have been getting somewhere or if the protagonist was really only offered the option of walking by the Avatar tech (but as stated in the movie, this was available by medical operations) I have to say that I don’t really see Avatar as science fiction at all. How come you say that the unobtanium was needed to save the human race? I don't remember them saying that in the movie. I do remember them saying that it sells for a bucket load of money and that all the shareholders care about is their quarterly statement. The unobtanium seemed more for human greed than survival. Hi
