Simple, sweet, and sometimes childlike (“Narwhal Pet”), the adorable Canadian duo of Debs & Errol first came to my attention through Errol’s sister who sent me an email about their debut album, Songs in the Key of Geek. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with the album. Actually, it’s a refreshing departure from most of the geek music I review for this column. As much as I enjoy and appreciate nerdcore, hip-hop is not a genre that I really grew up with. Simple melodic music, however, is closer to what I’m used to, and that’s what Debs & Errol provide.

As the self-appointed biggest fan of Wil Wheaton at Fandomania, I have been looking forward to this since it was announced. I was not disappointed, to say the least. With the king and queen of the geeks (Wil and Felicia) writing it, how could it possibly not be good? I’ll avoid too many spoilers for the comic itself, but I’ll assume knowledge of all of the episodes of The Guild that are out there. If you aren’t caught up, then you’ll want to do that before reading the comic anyway.

Steed and Mrs. Peel is based on the 1960s British spy television show The Avengers. The comic takes place sometime after Steed and Mrs. Peel are no longer partners, as Tara King makes an appearance in the first issue and in this issue. The story arc of the comic is that someone is killing members of an elite gaming club, the Palamedes Club. Steed tries to infiltrate the club, but is found out and forced to play games for his life. Mrs. Peel is chased down as some men try to kill her. They fail and tell her where Steed is being held.

Collecting blood, running up against the Alpha vampire, and worrying about Bobby’s growing anger were all elements the Winchesters had to deal with in this week’s episode. The problem is that everything has to work together perfectly for them to save the world and their friends, else there are going to be a whole lot of casualties to this war. While I have no doubt Dean and Sam can destroy the Leviathans, I don’t think they’re coming out of this one without a few losses.
