Contest: Draw Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Time for another contest! Klutz and Big Honcho Media are providing us with five copies of the new Draw Star Wars: The Clone Wars book, edited by Bonnie Burton and featuring art by Fandomania friend Grant Gould. Even better, one of the five copies is signed by Bonnie Burton herself! We’ll be giving away all five copies to lucky winners in two weeks. How can you be a lucky winner? I’m glad you asked!
How to enter:
You can enter this contest in two ways:
1) Reply to this post and tell us something about your fandom for Star Wars. It can be a story from your childhood, something about your favorite character, or anything else that shows you’re a fan.

You’ll get one entry into the contest for doing each of those two things. And if you do both, you’ll get two entries!
When it ends:

My son is the biggest Star Wars fan. He watches the movies over and over again. He has all the action figures and he would absolutely love this! He’s 6, by the way.

My 2 boys and me, have redone the family room to be a mini Star Wars shrine/ museum. It’s all Star Wars. We just came from Star Wars in concert and follow the 501st everywhere. Next is Star Wars weekends and Celebration. We live and love Star Wars!

My fandom for Star Wars goes beyond the average fan. I am so excited everytime I see that screen crawl it takes me back to my childhood!

I just shared my sons first viewing of Star Wars ANH and watching his wide eyes and wonder at the sights he was seeing brought back all the things I felt when I first saw it and I was so glad I was there to share it with him.

I can’t claim to be the biggest Star Wars fan ever. I mean, I love Star Trek too and isn’t there some rule in order to be the biggest Star Wars fan, one must dismiss all things Star Trek?
But I am a fan. Empire Strikes Back is my favourite film. I remember watching it for the first time as a wee child. I was so excited. Not only was I getting to stay up late, but we were allowed to eat dessert in the den too!
I happily gobbled down my bowl of tapioca pudding, high on the adrenaline of breaking so many rules at once. And then the scene came on. You know the one if you have watched ESB. A certain scene, involving the internal organs of a certain smelly but warm animal.
I will never know the truth of why we had tapioca pudding for dessert that night. Was it planned with malice? Was it planned to be funny? Or was there no plan at all, and it was just a coincidence?
No matter, Since that night, I have not been able to eat tapioca pudding without thinking of ESB. When I tell this tale to friends, they are surprised I can stomach it at all.

I remember having the Radio Drama on cassette and a picture book that followed episode 4. I would listen to the same cassette over and over again. It eventually broke because I listened so much. I have the thing practically memorized.
I went to a work day at our summer camp and while my mom worked, I sat and “entertained” the other kids by playing the cassette and holding up the book with pictures for them.
Great childhood memory.
Another is going to the drive in for Empire Strikes Back with my parents. I laid down in the back window and watched and fell asleep. I was only 5 and the Yoda scenes were so quiet.

I remember always being a fan of the empire strikes back, and when i saw clone wars it brought back memories of the comics i’ve read. Love it all.

My most memorable Star Wars fandom was really in thanks to my parents. I got really big into Star Wars towards the end of middle school. Boba Fett became my favorite character. So much my dad got me what is now an extremely rare resin model kit of Fett. With his help, I built and painted the nearly foot tall model. Even built a base with a blasted Imperial symbol behind him and “wanted” posters for Han, Chewy, and 3P0. During my first year of high school my parents randomly picked me up one day after school got out. They had the model in the car and took me to a local comic book shop (Emerald Comics in St Pete/clearwater). There at the shop was Jeremy Bulloch, doing signings, taking pics with fans (some of which were in costume). It was awesome, I was very shy holding the model in my hands, he saw it and signed the base. Was very impressed by it (so impressed that he didn’t charge us for the signatures). To this day it’s easily my all time favorite star wars fandom and just general fandom of meeting a celebrity.

I grew up with Star Wars. I still have an original Ewock and also a Lando figurine. One of the things that I remember the most from my childhood were all the awesome toys. Some of the toys today are cheap, but the classic toys have stood the test of time and still wonderful to play with.

I didn’t really get into Star Wars till I was in junior high. My best friend got us to watch the original trilogy again and I just loved it. I eventually bought those action figures that ran through most of the 90′s, a few books (like a Star Wars encyclopedia), and pretty much led me down the path towards much geekiness.

I am so geeky about Star Wars that i wear a Padawan Braid and carry around a Lightsaber. In public. I like the entier saga the prequels are my favorite. And my favorite movie is Episode II Attack of the Clones. So anyway I am totally Star Wars Addicted.
