With the highly anticipated Avengers movie being released on May 4, it just seemed like an obvious choice to put together a list of songs about The Avengers. What would be some interesting, but sometimes unexpected, covers for different geeky artists to perform? For my April Fools’ edition, I will attempt to answer the question: wouldn’t it be awesome if this artist performed this song?

I recently saw the movie The Magnificent Seven. Then I had an idea: while the TV version of The Magnificent Seven did okay, maybe it would do better set during different time periods! So here are the eras I think The Magnificent Seven could be in.

I often use music videos in my lists and reviews, but I’ve never yet written about the videos themselves. With this list, I’m going to change that.

In Part Two of this introduction to the next generation of nerdcore, I feature several artists that are new to me. Most of them I discovered while putting together this article, in fact.
