A new photo review is online, and this time it’s the Bowen Designs Rogue statue!
The Rogue statue by Bowen Designs breaks with Bowen’s usual museum style pose (ie: static, standing upright) and throws Rogue into action. Mike Petryszak sculpted this piece, which features Rogue in mid-flight, busting through a wall. The statue comes in two pieces, and you can attach Rogue to the wall base via a metal peg on her leg. Once attached, she stays firm and balanced.
The sculpt is a very kinetic one, especially noticeable in the flying bricks that are in the middle of being smashed. One deterrent to Rogue’s action pose is that you don’t get to see a lot of the great detailing on her front side very easily due to her facing downwards and being in close proximity to the wall. Overall, though, this is a strong piece for Bowen’s line and should be a good addition to any Rogue or X-Men collection.
Sideshow Collectibles has their own Rogue statue on the way as part of their Adam Hughes Comiquette collection. Once again, Rogue will be smashing through a wall, this time in full comiquette (usually around 16”) scale—the Bowen Rogue is just over 12”, including the base.
My Bowen Rogue initially had a brown smudge on her chin that looked like it came from some careless jacket painting at the factory. I was able to remedy the smudge so that she’s now good as new. Keep an eye out for those little imperfections if you’re looking into getting this one.
