Last weekend’s Dragon*Con kept up its usual tradition of having some of the best and most varied cosplay in geekdom, and we were there to capture it on film. Here are some of the best costumers we came across during the convention!

This past weekend, cosplayers came out in full force to MegaCon in Orlando, FL. Video games, movies, TV shows, cartoons, anime, comics, books, and even the Internet were represented — read on to check out some of the ones we saw walking around the convention hall on Saturday!

Whether it’s via a time machine, a musical instrument, or magical powers, these video games allow the player to travel through and control the flow of time in order to progress. Though not a comprehensive list, here’s a brief chronological survey of some of the best games to explore the fourth dimension.

Dexter Morgan’s blood slides — his collection of “trophies” from each of his kills — are such an iconic part of the Showtime series that several fans have found ways to incorporate them into crafts of various sorts, all without having to resort to murder.

Star Wars fan and guitar enthusiast Travis Stevens built an electric guitar out of a vintage Millennium Falcon playset. It even lights up!

This past weekend, we attended Dragon*Con in Atlanta, and as always, there was some fabulous costuming. There was so much awesomeness that instead of a list, I’m sharing a gallery of some of the best costumers and costume groups I came across during the convention — plus a few of me, Jason, and Ginny!

In 2008, the Chicago-based Slay-A-Thon, an annual charity event organized by Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel fans, raffled off a particularly cool prize: a playset of the iconic Magic Box, made by fanvidder (and modeler) HammerPixVideo.
