Marvel’s next big event, Secret Invasion, launches with issue #1 on Wednesday, and I’ll be following the twists and turns of the plot here. There’s already been a lot of lead-up, with back-story going back into the annals of Marvel Comics. The deep and extensive history of the alien race known as the Skrulls and their interactions with Earth and the Marvel Universe is so involved that Marvel published a free comic called Secret Invasion Saga to bring readers up to speed. Love it or hate it, the Skrulls are invading the Marvel Universe. Secret Invasion is a storyline writer Brian Michael Bendis claims was years in the making, with hints dropping as early as his New Avengers #1. Now the invasion is upon us with Secret Invasion #1 releasing next Wednesday, and Marvel has an animated webisode that sets the stage for the conflict:

Soul Calibur IV made waves when Namco Bandai announced that Darth Vader and Yoda would be appearing in the character roster for the game. Now they’re unveiling some more traditional fare for Soul Calibur with new details and screenshots of Amy, Cervantes, and Zasalamel. Joystiq has the full info:
ComingSoon has received the new X-Files 2 teaser poster, and it’s pretty fantastic in its minimalism. The poster features stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, and the film is slated to release July 25.
It’s a big day for Grand Theft Auto IV news, and anticipation for the game is only going to get higher as the April 29 release date nears. First up, we have the newest trailer:
And then we have news of the Social Club website. Joystiq reports that this site will link with players’ XBox Live Gamertags and Playstation Network IDs to track statistics in realtime for both single player and multiplayer games. You’ll be able to compare your rap sheet with your fellow players, see a map of offenses committed community-wide in Liberty City, and even track the total amount of miles traveled and bullets fired. The site will be ready for signups on April 15, which will give you plenty of time to prepare to rush through the game on release and win a “key to the city” for being one of the first ten gamers to score 100%.
Wednesday night, director Chris Carter unveiled the new trailer for the X-Files movie sequel at his Paley panel in Hollywood. Someone in attendance managed to grab a video of it and throw it onto YouTube, and it’s definitely good quality for a spur-of-the-moment bootleg. The trailer is scheduled to show in theaters when Iron Man is released May 2, and the movie itself releases July 25.
